2021 Plant Sale

Buddleia ‘Miss Molly’,

The middle of winter is a great time to get excited for spring and preparing our gardens!  The Lumpkin County 4-H and Georgia Mountains Master Gardeners are ready to provide beautiful, quality plants once again offered through their annual plant sale.  This is your opportunity to fulfill your gardening goals by ordering superior plants, among them many unusual items.

Photos and descriptions of all the 2021 plants are now available online at the links below. Order forms are available online at the links below and are also available outside the Extension Office, located at 26 Johnson Street, Suite A in Dahlonega.

Rose ‘At Last’

The 29 different plants are available to pre-order until Friday, March 26, with pickup on Saturday, April 24.  All plants have been professionally grown in specialized nurseries in north Georgia, and only leave their greenhouses the day before they are picked up by customers.  The selection includes native plants, old favorites, new discoveries, and fruit suited to our climate.  In addition to blueberries and thornless blackberries, there are also raspberries, a full size hardy pomegranate and a wonderful dwarf mulberry available to purchase.  This year’s plant varieties include many that attract pollinators such as a red black-eyed susan, a frilly shasta daisy and an apricot colored flowering quince.  You will also find many deer resistant/tolerant varieties.  “Proven Winner” plants this year include the striking raspberry colored Buddleia ‘Miss Molly’, and a new ever-blooming peach colored Rose ‘At Last®’.

Also available is our “Gardener’s Journal“, created by the Georgia Mountains Master Gardeners to be used as a handy and fun way to keep a record of your garden plants and maintenance projects.  It is not year dated, so it can be used in successive years to improve your garden record keeping.  The cost for these beautifully illustrated journals is $15.00 or two for $25.00, and they make great gifts.

Unfortunately, this year we will NOT have any additional plants for you to purchase on the day of the sale, so get your wish list orders in EARLY! The deadline for orders is Friday, March 26, 2021.

Plant pick-up will on be ONE DAY ONLY on Saturday, April 24, from 9:00am to NOON
at the Lumpkin County Roads/Recycling Department, 1646 Red Oak Flats Road in Dahlonega.
Due to Covid 19 restrictions, we will be having the plant pickup as a drive thru this year.  You are asked to please wear a mask and stay in your vehicle.

Proceeds from past sales were used by the 4-H to enhance programs for their members, and to pay for scholarships to attend camps and enrichment activities.  The Master Gardeners continue to establish and maintain community gardening projects throughout the Lumpkin and Dawson County areas, provide college scholarships, and they continue to host educational gardening presentations to the public throughout the year.
